The article analyzes intra-ethnic processes in the context of Kazakhstan’s multi-ethnic society. It examines ethno-demographic, ethnocultural, linguistic, migratory, and identification-related changes occurring within various ethnic groups. The focus is placed on identifying factors that contribute both to the consolidation and separation of ethnic groups. Based on empirical data, the transformation of identity, forms of compact settlement, the level of involvement in socio-political processes, as well as the degrees of acculturation, assimilation, and integration are examined. Special attention is given to the influence of socio-demographic structure, urbanization, religiosity, political reforms in local self-governance, and value orientations on intra-ethnic dynamics. The article also highlights a growing interest in Kazakh ethnocultural motifs and symbolism among representatives of different ethnic groups. Key directions for further research are proposed, aimed at strengthening ethno-social stability and promoting civic integration in a context of ethnocultural diversity.
