Identification of the effectiveness of fact-checking as a media literacy instrument between centinals in Kazakhstan.
Methodology.
Results. The authors concluded that legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan can successfully prevent the spread of numerous fake news. We associate the average level of media literacy with the lack of a quick response to acute social events and with the low prevalence of media education practices. Fact-checking practices and methods in the country aim to increase cooperation between mass-media and Internet users and to involve young people in the fact-checking process.
Research implications. The material reveals the essence and features of fact-checking in Central Asian countries. The data obtained can be used for the preparation of training manuals and manuals on fact-checking in a specific region of specialization.
