This article explores the history of the establishment of the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan in 1994, identifies the initiators of the convocation of the People's Kurultai of the republic and the response of the Head of State. It reflects the main goals and objectives of this consultative body of the Kyrgyz Republic. The author emphasizes the importance of having an organization like the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan in a multinational, multicultural, and multilingual country such as the independent Kyrgyz Republic. The reasons and necessity for the creation of the APK are analyzed. It is noted that ethnocultural diversity is a common feature of many modern states and gains particular significance in the context of global changes. The increasing status of the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan and the state's support for this public institution are convincingly demonstrated. The article provides detailed information on the regulatory and legal acts of the Kyrgyz Republic that ensure the functioning of the Assembly. It shows that the multinational, polyethnic, and multilingual nature of society and the state are important and relevant factors for further sustainable development. The author notes that conceptual research into the history and activities of the APK remains highly relevant, yet underexplored in the historiography of the Kyrgyz Republic. Highlighting the issue in this article, the author attaches great importance to the phenomenon of social associations such as national-cultural centers and their unification into the Assembly of Peoples of a given country. In this case, the activities of the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan are comprehensively studied.
