Abstract

This article explores the topic of interculturalism as a dominant model of interethnic integration in Kazakhstan. It highlights the relevance of interethnic integration in the current geopolitical and socio-economic landscape, as well as its significance for societal unity, economic development, and well-being. The main objective of the article is to examine interculturalism as an approach to interethnic relations, emphasizing its ability to encourage active interaction, respect for different cultures, and the promotion of shared values and social cohesion.
The article also discusses the concepts of interethnic integration, multiculturalism, and interculturalism, identifying a lack of comprehensive analysis regarding the role of interculturalism as a dominant model of interethnic integration in Kazakhstan. It highlights the importance of bridging this gap through a critical review of the literature and providing insights into the potential of interculturalism in the Kazakhstani context. Furthermore, the article acknowledges limitations and gaps in the current knowledge base and identifies the need for more empirical research to examine the effectiveness of interculturalism in promoting social cohesion, addressing ethnic inequalities, and fostering a sense of belonging in Kazakhstan.
Overall, this article aims to contribute to the understanding of interculturalism as a dominant model of interethnic integration in Kazakhstan, provide recommendations for further research, and inform workers in the field of interethnic integration.
