The article discusses the experience of the creation and work of the Council of Elders in Kazakhstan and other countries of the world. The features of this institution, its role in conflict resolution and its role in ensuring interethnic harmony are analyzed. The authors of the study will conduct a comparative analysis of the experience of Kazakhstan and other countries, identify the advantages and disadvantages of this institute. The results of the study can be useful for developing effective mechanisms for regulating interethnic relations.
