Abstract

The article deals with the problem of historical memory influence of the collective identity formation and nation-building processes. The modern national representation of the history is fragmented, there are independent histories of the Kazakhs and other peoples of Kazakhstan, the history is still perceived as the history of ethnic groups. The representation of the history contributes to the formation of an inferiority complex and the development of a traumatized collective memory. A new model of the history representation is proposed, in which the post-Soviet and ethnocentric discourse is replaced by a civilization-national one.
